Clancy Brown Playing DC's General in THE FLASH

Put Clancy Brown down as the latest name to be added to The CW’s THE FLASH. The Hollywood Reporter has word that the veteran actor will be playing General Wade Eiling, often known as simply The General in the DC comic book world. Brown is best known for the likes of HIGHLANDER, STARSHIP TROOPERS, THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, this year’s SPARKS, and for, of course, lending his vocals to Lex Luthor in various animated outings.

In the show, Eiling will be heading up a black ops army team who are in pursuit of Kelly Frye’s Plastique in the hope of using her as a human weapon. The character of The General often flits between friend and foe for some of the heroes in the DC world. Having ties to the Suicide Squid and Amanda Waller, more times than not he can be seen butting heads with the Justice League, though. How this latest version of the characters plays out, we’ll have to wait and see, although Clancy Brown is a fine, fine addition to any show.

THE FLASH debuts in the US on the 7th October.
