Children’s book publisher Orion have announced that they will be bringing one of Gerry Anderson’s last projects to life. Black Horizon by bestselling author M G Harris will be the first Gemini Force One novel in a planned series and will come out in hardback later this year via Gollancz.

The books will then come out in paperback form through Gollancz’s imprint for children, Orion. The intial funding for the book was raised via a Kickstarter campaign organised by Gerry Anderson’s son, Jamie. Those who made the appropriate pledge to the Kickstarter will receive a limited edition hardback of Black Horizon.

Gerry Anderson devised Gemini Force One in 2008. The premise behind the series will be familiar to fans of Thunderbirds. Set in the modern day, Gemini Force One are a rescue team that deal with environmental and terrorist threats through the use of clever technology and bravery.  Jamie Anderson said “Dad was a prolific creative, and was constantly coming up with new ideas. Gemini Force One was one of his final projects, and something that he felt passionately would inspire a whole new generation. In continuing to develop GF1 we’ve been lucky enough to team up with best-selling author MG Harris who really understood the premise of the project and its “Gerry Anderson spirit” from the get-go. “ Books two and three of the series will come out in 2015 and 2016 respectively.
