Joseph Fink and Jeffrey Cranor’s sublime podcast WELCOME TO NIGHT VALE has gone from strength to strength since its launch in 2012, and soon they’ll take their unique brand of surreal storytelling to another medium with the release of its first spin-off novel. 

For those unfamiliar, the serialized podcast takes the form of a public radio show being broadcast from the titular town of Night Vale, a place that makes Twin Peaks look like Chipping Norton in terms of batshit crazy. Hovering cats, Glow Clouds, angels, doomed interns, The Faceless Woman Who Secretly Lives in Your Home, in Night Vale anything can happen. (And probably will at some point.)

Harper Perennial will release the book (of which details are currently slim on the ground) in hardcover sometime in 2015. Can a TV series be too far behind?
