One of the hands-down greatest shows in genre history is undoubtedly the brilliant, beautiful Batman: The Animated Series. Well, in some fantastic news, the show is finally getting a Blu-ray release.

The news was confirmed by Warner Bros. Animation’s Gary Miereanu at this past weekend’s New York Comic Con, and the full collection will arrive on sweet baby Blu at some point next year. No further details are known just yet on what will be included in the release or at what point in 2018 we can expect to see B:TAS given the Blu-ray treatment.

Debuting back in 1992 following the success of Tim Burton’s Batman and Batman Returns, Batman: The Animated Series initially ran for eighty-five episodes up until 1995, with the final batch of episodes retitled as The Adventures of Batman & Robin. The much-loved show was then followed in 1997 by The New Batman Adventures. Famously, Kevin Conroy provided the vocals of the show’s Caped Crusader, while Mark Hamill was on fantastic form as his longtime nemesis, the infamous Joker.

As ever, expect more on this upcoming Blu-ray release of Batman: The Animated Series as we get it.
