With Shane Black currently developing a new Predator movie, it’s being reported that Benicio Del Toro is now in talks to join the picture.

Deadline broke the scoop, with the famed The Usual Suspects, Traffic, Sin City and The Wolfman actor in negotiations for a lead role in the film. No real details are known on the film itself just yet, bar, y’know, that it’ll involve a human element coming up against the deadly, clinical Predator(s). The movie will take place in the same continuity as the first two movies, and Arnold Schwarzenegger has even had initial talks about maybe returning as Dutch in some fashion.

Iron Man 3 director Shane Black has been putting the movie, currently known as The Predator, together for a few years now, with Black’s Monster Squad co-writer Fred Dekker having done the screenplay for the film. At this stage, it’s believed that shooting will start next February ahead of February 9th, 2018 release.

Up next for Del Toro is a little flick by the name of Star Wars: Episode VIII.
