As soon as The CW debuted their Oliver Queen-centric show, ARROW, fans were looking at nods and ties to a greater DC world. With Warner Brothers restarting their cinematic universe with MAN OF STEEL, would the small screen version of Green Arrow exist in the same world? More fuel was only added to this speculation when Warners announced that they were building towards a Justice League movie. At this stage, however, it seems that The Arrow will exist in a separate universe to Henry Cavill’s Superman and Ben Affleck’s Batman, although the Emerald Archer’s world is being expanded nicely on the small screen, with The Flash added to the mix and heroes like The Atom and Firestorm to make appearances in that particular world soon enough. And on that note, star Stephen Amell has been recently discussing a possible small screen Justice League team.

Speaking at the Fan Expo Canada event, as reported by CBR, Amell revealed, “We are creating a Justice League on TV for us. I don’t think there is a logistical reality to us participating in the feature side. That being said, I never wanted to have to feel like the show was justified, just because we participated in the movie. I don’t think my character would participate on the cinematic side. What’s that saying… six seasons and a movie? Our show right now has me, Arsenal, Flash. There’s going to be Firestorm and Atom. The Justice League elements of it are very present on our shows already.”

When asked which hero he would like to see appear in the show, Amell teased, “Now, boy we’ve referenced Ferris Air a lot. It would be really cool to have Green Lantern. Hopefully, that happens. I have no inside information, unless I do.”

Not just Ferris Air, ARROW has also been revealed to be set in a world in which Wayne Tech, Kord Industries, and S.T.A.R. Labs all exist, all opening up various possibilities. Whilst S.T.A.R. Labs will play a key role in THE FLASH, so will Firestorm. Stephen Amell’s cousin, Robbie Amell, has been confirmed as playing Ronnie Raymond, better known as half of the dual-identity Firestorm, in the ARROW spin-off. On that topic, Stephen confirmed that he was well aware of Robbie’s addition to THE FLASH before he actually was himself.

The man behind The Arrow explained, “Greg told me about Robbie and Firestorm about two months before Robbie knew about it. Robbie texts me and goes, ‘I GOT A JOB ON THE FLASH!’ All capitals and exclamation marks. I wrote back, ‘I know,’ and then welcomed him to the Justice League of America. Robbie and I, for being in the same business, the only time we’ve ever teamed up is in beer pong. We’ve never actually teamed up on screen together. I think eventually there’s a chance Oliver Queen and Mr. Firestorm may cross paths.”

We make no bones about it: we’re huge advocates of ARROW. With that said, we’re more than happy to see Oliver Queen continue his adventure on the small screen and through episodic television. The storytelling, casting, tone, arcs, and atmosphere of the show have been so brilliantly crafted, it would almost be a shame to see The Arrow shoehorned into an already-packed movie blockbuster as a supporting hero in a Justice League movie.
