With the glut of comic book-based shows on TV at the moment, get ready for another one. Deadline is reporting that The CW is developing a new DC show that would be a spin-off from ARROW and THE FLASH. Be warned, there are some potential spoilers ahead.

SPOILERS

This new series will be a team-up of sorts. Think essentially a live-action rotating roster, similar to the familiar BRAVE AND THE BOLD tales.

Whilst the Arrow and Flash characters themselves won’t be a major part of this new show, the focus will instead centre on Brandon Routh, Victor Garber, Wentworth Miller and Caity Lotz. Yes, as in the very same Caity Lotz whose Sara Lance character was killed off at the beginning of ARROW’s third season. That’d be the spoiler part of this post.

The report doesn’t actually list which characters the above will be playing, and some are actually speculating that Lotz could be playing a completely new character to Sara. Other than that, it’ll just be a case of either Sara Lance appearing in flashback moments or quite simply she did not really die as we believed. On the other roles, Brandon Routh is of course ARROW’s Ray Palmer, aka The Atom, whilst Victor Garber plays THE FLASH’s Martin Stein, known as one half of Firestorm, and Wentworth Miller is the villainous Captain Cold.

Deadline is additionally reporting that this new series will also introduce at least three DC characters who have yet to ever appear on live-action television. That could be very, very interesting…

Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, Marc Guggenheim and Sarah Schechter are to serve as executive producers on this new as-yet-to-be-titled show. It’s expected, given the success and popularity of ARROW and THE FLASH, that the series will be picked up straight away and could air as early as this time next year.
