With former Flash John Wesley Shipp already on board for The CW’s THE FLASH, now comes word that another name from 1990’s THE FLASH series has been added to the ARROW spin-off. Variety is reporting that Amanda Pays, who played Dr. Tina McGee in the earlier CBS show, will appear in this new show. Interestingly, she’ll actually be playing Tina McGee once more.

On the news, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg enthused, “When we decided to bring Tina onto our version of THE FLASH, who better to get than the amazing actress who originated the part? Like with John Wesley Shipp, we are so proud and excited to have another actor from the original series join us on our new adventures of Barry Allen.”

The character of Tina McGee was initially created by Mike Baron and Jackson Guice, going on to appear in all 22 episodes of the ‘90s series as an employee of S.T.A.R. Labs. This time out, she’ll be working for a rival firm that takes an interest in Barry Allen’s special powers. Rumour suggests that said firm could very well be Kord Enterprises.

THE FLASH premieres on The CW on October 7th, with a UK airing to follow shortly after.
