Ahsoka Tano is finally getting the spotlight she deserves, with the first Ahsoka trailer premiering at London’s Star Wars Celebration event.

Rosario Dawson stars as the titular “Warrior. Outcast. Rebel. Jedi”, whom she also played in episodes of The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. Starring opposite Dawson is Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who also appeared at the celebration to reveal that she’d be playing the revolutionary leader Hera Syndulla.

Long-time Star Wars architect Dave Filoni is directing, writing and executive producing the series about Ahsoka Tano’s galaxy-spanning search for Grand Admiral Thrawn, a former commander in the Empire, alongside Star Wars collaborator Jon Favreau. Peter Ramsey, the co-director of the incredible Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, is among the directors of season one.

Favreau previously described Ahsoka as Filoni’s “magnum opus”, which serves as a promising endorsement for what fans might expect of the long-awaited Star Wars miniseries.

Alongside Dawson and Winstead, the series also stars Ray Stevenson as a Sith, Ivanna SakhnoNatasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, and Eman Esfandi as fan-favourite animation character Ezra Bridger. Hayden Christensen returns as Anakin Skywalker.

The Star Wars series premieres on Disney+ in August 2023. Watch the Ahsoka trailer below:
