Gerry Anderson 1929 – 2012

Gerry Anderson was an innovative, creative man that shaped our childhood inspiring us to overcome obstacles and work together as a team.

Our surrogate father allowed us to see the future through his creations. He was the dreamer of the dreams that shared them with the entire world. Through his eyes, we were taken on deep space, Earthly and undersea adventures.

We flew along with Steve Zodiac and crew in the Fireball XL5. Thunderbirds were always go with the Tracey family. Captain Scarlet kept planet Earth safe from the Mysterons. Commander Straker and Colonel Paul Foster did the same in U.F.O.

Commander John Koenig, Dr. Helena Russell and Professor Victor Bergman showed us strange worlds on the runway moon through the universe.

We even took a Journey to the Far Side of the Sun.

Mike Mercury, Jimmy Gibson and Professor Popkiss took us on the amazing, do-anything, Supercar.

Harry Rule and company took us to exotic locals solving mysteries in the Protectors.

Captain Troy Tempest and Lieutenant George Lee Sheridan solved mysteries and battled evildoers under the sea in Stingray while Captain Tempest romanced Marina.

These were worlds to discover and what better way through the eyes of a child. He taught us well and left behind a great legacy for future generations.

Right now, we’re sure the Thunderbirds, Eagles, Stingrays, Fireballs are all flying their missing man formations for their creator. It is our childhood’s end, yet with every ending there is a new beginning.

His work will always live in our hearts.

F.A.B. out.
