saga-issue-8

This week, we officially ring in the winter season with the upcoming solstice and what better way to warm the cockles of your cold, dead heart than with a steaming hot stack of new comics. This Wednesday’s offerings feature a cohort of kick-ass women from Gotham to Mega City One, hard decisions for an Ultimate webslinger, a date with the in-laws Saga-style, Aja’s triumphant return, a trip through time with RECONNECT, and a very Morrison Christmas.

Batwoman #15

Story by: J.H. Williams III and W. Haden Blackman / Art by: Trevor McCarthy

From DC Comics: The Batwoman/Wonder Woman team-up continues! The action is out of control as Bones, Chase, the DEO, Abbot and the Religion of Crime all descend on Gotham City to take part in the fight against Medusa! And then at the end of the issue the all-new…ah…we can’t tell you but it’s awesome!

Catwoman #15

Story by: Ann Nocenti / Art by: Rafael Sandoval and Jordi Tarragona

From DC Comics: Following her standoff against The Joker, Catwoman takes an easy job: stealing Eclipso’s Black Diamond from The Black Room! The diamond’s power rises with the full moon…like on the night Catwoman sets out to take it!

Birds of Prey #15

Story by: Duane Swierczynski / Art by: Romano Molenaar and Vicente Cifuentes

From DC Comics: It’s shake-up time as the team loses one member and gains a new one! Meanwhile, something strange is happening to Black Canary, and Starling’s not sure what to do about it. Is this a hint of darker things to come?

Judge Dredd #2

Story by: Duane Swierczynski / Art by: Nelson Daniel and Brendan McCarthy

From IDW: In Mega-City one, Judges ARE the law. But what happens when a veteran Judge goes bad? And he’s so skilled at hiding his misdeeds that even Judge Dredd is unable to dig up the evidence he needs? Looks like it’s time to choose psis… from the Psi Division, that is! IDW’s all-new ongoing series continues here, with the re-introduction of fan-favorite JUDGE ANDERSON! Don’t even think about skipping this issue. Because well, she’ll *know*.

Comeback #2

Story by: Ed Brisson / Art by: Michael Walsh

From Image Comics: An FBI raid throws RECONNECT, an illegal time travel agency, into a panic. Trapped in the past, RECONNECT agent Mark Thomas has lost the woman whose life he was sent to save. He must find her and throw the FBI off his trail or lose his only method of getting back home.

Happy #3

Story by: Grant Morrison / Art by: Darick Robertson

From Image Comics: With a day left until Christmas, and time running out for Santa’s innocent victims, Happy the Horse learns what turned Nick Sax from golden cop to broken-down hitman. But can he convince Nick to do the right thing or is it Happy’s turn to face some uncomfortable home truths?

Saga #8

Story by: Brian K. Vaughan / Art by: Fiona Staples

From Image Comics: Former soldier and new mom Alana has already survived lethal assassins, rampaging armies and alien monstrosities, but now she faces her greatest challenge yet: the in-laws.

Captain Marvel #8

Story by: Kelly Sue DeConnick and Christopher Sebela / Art by: Dexter Soy

From Marvel: DEEP SEA DANGER! What lurks below the ocean’s surface? And can Captain Marvel stop it before she gets ship-wrecked? Guest-starring Monica Rambeau!

Hawkeye #6

Story by: Matt Fraction / Art by: David Aja

From Marvel: David Aja returns to the most critically acclaimed comic of 2012! The Ace Archer Clint Barton faces DVR-MAGEDDON!

Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #18

Story by: Brian Michael Bendis / Art by: David Marquez

From Marvel: The world is at war and Miles Morales is miles from home! Miles has joined the Ultimates but that decision may have cost him his family. Our young super hero has to make some big decisions and he has to make them now! Guest-starring the ULTIMATES!
