If you thought that FOX’s GOTHAM couldn’t fit in any more DC names, now comes word that Jonathan Crane will be appearing in the show. Executive producer Danny Cannon revealed the news at Stan Lee’s Comikaze Expo 2014. Crane, of course, is better known as long-time Batman villain The Scarecrow.

Cannon elaborated that this version of Jonathan Crane will be a young boy in the series, who will then go on to ‘inherit’ the Scarecrow moniker from his father. In GOTHAM, Crane’s father will be an enemy of Ben McKenzie’s Jim Gordon.

Jonathan Crane being added to the show is just the latest in a slew of DC villains-in-waiting who will be a part of GOTHAM, with versions of Poison Ivy, The Penguin, The Riddler, Two-Face, Catwoman and possibly even The Joker to appear in FOX’s not-Batman show. Expect to see the Crane role cast over the next few weeks.
