With Simon Kinberg having reportedly now completed the screenplay for Josh Trank’s FANTASTIC FOUR reboot, those casting rumours have raised their heads again. One name that has been regularly linked to the role of Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic is Miles Teller. Speaking to Collider, the actor has been addressing these stories.

Responding to the rumours, and whether he is in the type of shape to play a superhero, Teller said, “I know, you know, if that were to happen, I think the characters would be taken in a different direction than the kind of blue suits and stuff from the franchise that had previously been done, which you’d have to if you’re gonna reboot something, you really got to kind of put your own spin on it. But with that being said, all I need is, like, a couple of weeks to just get my body back in shape. So the answer to that is yes, I could get back in the shape.”

Having previously confirmed that he’s had talks for the FF redo, it’s definitely interesting to see what 20th Century Fox has planned for the movie. Firstly, at 26-years-old, there’s a strong argument amongst fans that Teller is far too young to play Reed Richards, one of comic books’ most mature, intelligent characters. Added to that, Teller’s comments about the reboot looking to move away from the iconic blue FF suits will undoubtedly have fans raising their eyebrows. How does all this sit with you guys?

At present, FANTASTIC FOUR is set to start shooting in March of this year, with casting news imminent. At present, Trank’s movie has a release date of 19th June, 2015.
