As the last major update to the 2D sidescrolling Minecraft-like, fans of Terraria have been waiting months to hear of the 1.2 update the developers are installing to the game. As both one of the biggest ones the title has seen since late 2011 and a final send-off to the title before the programmers involved move onto other things, it’s a big deal for many people. After being teased for months with information about updated enemies, graphics, music and major gameplay changes, we finally have a release date.
Announced on his twitter account, Andrew Spinks AKA Demilogic has revealed yesterday that 1.2 will be available to owners on October the 1st. While still several weeks off, this news confirms the knowledge that Terraria will actually see the update after months of work on the game. While little else has actually been revealed, teaser trailers and test videos can be found on YouTube displaying some of the bigger updates to the game.
It’s currently unknown how this will affect the countless mods for the game with so many sweeping changes, but it’s likely more than a few will be directly affected.
