Powers

30 DAYS OF NIGHT director David Slade is to direct the opening salvo of TV series, POWERS.

Based on the cult comic series written by current GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY scribe Brian Michael Bendis and artist Michael Avon Oeming, POWERS is being adapted exclusively for Sony’s PlayStation Network. Slade, who has also directed several episodes of HANNIBAL, and (ahem…) THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE, will helm the first two episodes. Best-selling author, and one time writer of Marvel Comics’ Moon Knight, Charlie Huston has penned the opening episodes, which should be launched this winter.

Combining the genres of superhero fantasy, crime noir and the police procedural, the comic series follows the lives of two homicide detectives, Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim, assigned to investigate cases involving people with superhuman abilities, who are referred to colloquially as “powers”.
