Sick of seeing classic films released on Blu-ray in less-than-spectacular quality? Yep, us too. That’s why we’re getting behind 88 Films’ Indiegogo campaign to raise funds to transfer the 1980 Italian schlock horror flick ZOMBI HOLOCAUST (aka DOCTOR BUTCHER MD) onto the HD format from the original negative.

The film has already been released Stateside on the format, but many fans have been unimpressed with the quality. Always wanted to give the best to fans, 88 Films want to give the film a release worth waiting for.

There are also plans to include a wealth of bonus features on the disc, including the new documentary from High Rising Productions – EATEN ALIVE: THE RISE AND FALL OF THE ITALIAN CANNIBAL FILM. Directed by respected writer/critic Calum Waddell, it promises to be the final word on the much-maligned subgenre.

As well as the basic pre-order of the disc, higher pledge levels give fans a chance to upgrade to include other discs from the company’s catalogue, as T-shirts and other goodies.
