In a massively intriguing move, it’s being reported that HBO is looking to develop a Watchman series with Zack Snyder.

Collider broke the news, claiming that meetings have already taken place between the network and Snyder. It’s not known at this stage whether any potential TV show would take place before 2009’s Watchmen, after the film, or even if it would be a retelling of the original source material depicted in the movie.

Snyder, of course, helmed the 2009 film adaptation, which disappointed at the box office (it only took home $185 million across the globe) but yet which was largely praised by fans and critics. Where any HBO series would fit in to the director’s schedule remains to be seen, particularly with him currently finishing off next year’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice before moving on to the two-part Justice League project which is set for 2017 and 2019.

As ever, expect more on this as and when it develops.
