As NBC’s HEROES: REBORN starts to move forward, it’s been announced by the network that Zachary Levi will be taking the lead role in the show. Levi is likely best known to genre fans for CHUCK and for playing Fandral in THOR: THE DARK WORLD.

On the news, Levi himself said, “One of my first, and fondest, memories of joining the NBC family in 2007 was having the pleasure of getting to know Tim Kring and the cast of HEROES. I was a fan of their collective work and always thought it was such a fantastic and fun world they got to play in. With HEROES: REBORN, I’m honoured to have the opportunity to bring more of that world to life and excited to help in offering the fans of the franchise an epic new installation of a series that made such a huge impact on entertainment.”

Details of Levi’s exact role haven’t been revealed at this stage, and he joins Jack Coleman as the only confirmed cast members to date.

HEROES: REBORN will be a 13-episode series that is a standalone story from the original HEROES show. That show detailed a group of people who develop superhuman abilities that can change the world.
