While Zac Efron may be thought of for cheery Disney fodder, cheesy romances, and the odd comedy, his next project is certainly one that’s come from left field and is one that will definitely test the chops of Efron.
As per The Hollywood Reporter, the young actor has signed on to headline Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile – a movie focussing on one of the world’s most infamous and prolific serial killers, Ted Bundy.
The outlet reports that the film will be “told through the perspective of Elizabeth Kloepfer, Bundy’s longtime girlfriend who went years denying the accusations against Bundy, but ultimately turned him in to the police. Only nearing his execution, when Bundy began talking about his extensive and heinous murders, did Kloepfer, and the rest of the world, learn the true scope of his numerous and grizzly murders.”
From a script by Michael Wermie and to be directed by Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2’s Joe Berlinger, Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile is set to start shooting this October.
