As production gets under way on Shane Black’s The Predator, the film has moved to bring in another new cast addition.

The Hollywood Reporter has word that Yvonne Strahovski has joined the film, with the Dexter and I, Frankenstein actress to play the ex-wife of Boyd Holbrook’s headlining hero and the mother of young Jacob Tremblay’s character.

As well as Strahovski, Holbrook and Tremblay on board, the film also has Olivia Munn, Thomas Jane, Keegan-Michael Key, Alfie Allen, and Sterling K. Brown signed on.

Plot details on the film are still hazy at this early stage, although it was previously reported that the film would take place in the same continuity as the first two Predator movies. Since then, Boyd Holbrook has said how “it’s not a sequel”, so we’ll have to see how things turn out. Additionally, Arnold Schwarzenegger reportedly met with Shane Black to discuss a cameo for his Dutch character, although again, Holbrook recently said how he doesn’t think we’ll be seeing Das Arnold in the film because “it would kind of make it a gimmick.”

Currently shooting in Vancouver, Canada, The Predator is set for a February 9th, 2018 release.
