Starting her career as a ballet dancer, she later went on to appear in films opposite Elvis Presley prior to her iconic portrayal of Barbara Gordon and her alter ego, Batgirl. She also had numerous guest spots on TV including The Mod Squad, The Six Million Dollar Man, Kojak, Starsky and Hutch, and Fantasy Island.
She is also fondly remembered for her appearance as Marta in the Star Trek episode Whom Gods Destroy in 1969, and the camp sci-fi classic Mars Needs Women in 1967.
