Virginia

Video games are increasingly becoming the arena for savvy storytellers with something to say, disenchanted by other traditional media platforms. With indie games being a steady stapled of Steam, the PlayStation Store and now more readily available on Xbox, it’s safe to people are open to the idea of little quirky games. What’s more, huge studios like Ubisoft are churning out impressive, understated, and moving games like CHILD OF LIGHT and the heart-wrenching VALIANT HEARTS, gaming is in a very healthy place.

A low-poly first person interactive drama inspired by THE X-FILES and TWIN PEAKS is right at home. VIRGINIA, from developers Variable State, inspired by the aforementioned and THE OUTER LIMITS, follows two FBI agents investigating the disappearance of a little boy. The developer’s goal was to ‘create a game which captured their mixture of the inexplicable, the absurd and the mundane, nothing is quite what it seems.

VIRGINIA is expected for a PC release next year.
