Following on from last week’s news that Woody Harrelson was in talks for Lucasfilm’s upcoming Han Solo-driven movie, now comes confirmation that Harrelson has indeed signed up for the film.

There’s no news on just what role the Zombieland and Natural Born Killers star will be playing, but he joins a cast that’s currently made up of Alden Ehrenreich as the young Solo, Donald Glover as young Lando Calrissian, and a mystery role for Emilia Clarke.

On the addition of Harrelson, directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller said, “We couldn’t be more excited to work with an artist with as much depth and range as Woody. His ability to find both humour and pathos, often in the same role, is truly unique. He is also very good at ping pong.”

And we all know how important good ping pong skills are in a galaxy far, far away…

The still-to-be-titled Han Solo movie will be the second Star Wars Story movie following Gareth Edwards’ Rogue One. At present, the film is set for a May 25th, 2018 release and will tell the story of how Han became the scruffy-looking nerf herder we were introduced to in Mos Eisley back in 1977.
