When Warner Brothers finally got round to announcing their full upcoming DC cinematic slate, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman was an integral part of the picture. Debuting in BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE, the famed heroine will go on to play a key role in the two-part JUSTICE LEAGUE tale as well as headlining her own picture, believed to be the start of a Wonder Woman-based trilogy. Turns out that all may not be going as smooth as we were led to believe on the Diana solo film.

Vulture has recently done a feature on Michelle MacLaren, who has been announced to direct WONDER WOMAN. Thing is, the feature claims that MacLaren has said that the script has yet to be written, the film hasn’t even been green-lit yet, and there is no definite release date in place. Considering Warner Brothers announced that the film would see a June 23rd, 2017 release, this certainly adds some confusion to the situation. And you’d think that MacLaren would obviously be in the know on this matter. As for the script, it was recently believed that PAN’s Jason Fuchs was in negotiations to pen the screenplay.

One trail of thought would suggest that the studio is having a few doubts about the future of their DC Cinematic Universe, meaning that they’re still a little unsure on whether to definitely move forward with WONDER WOMAN. Maybe it all depends on how well-received BATMAN V SUPERMAN is.

As ever, expect more on this as and when it develops.
