For seven years now, February has taken the mantle of Women in Horror Month worldwide, thanks to the wonderful work of Hannah Neurotica and a growing legion of amazingly talented female directors.

Sylvia and Jen Soska, The Twisted Twins, who will need no introduction to readers of STARBURST, have naturally been long supporters of the cause and take the opportunity each year to ‘give back’ in the form of a Public Service Announcement for giving blood. Over the years, this has expanded to include other directors, and this year, for the first time, feminist directors of any gender have taken part. The result, as one could expect, is bloody brilliant. This is the Women in Horror Massive Blood Drive PSA 2016.

The talent behind the cameras this year are: Jill Gevargizian (Call Girl), Maude Michaud (Dys-), Gigi Saul Guerrero (El Gigante), Hannah Neurotica (The Water’s Fine), Patricia Chica (Serpent’s Lullaby), Andy Stewart (Ink), Tristan Risk (making her directorial début!), Nicole McClure (The Unbearable Lightness of Boning), Joe Magna, (Hellevator), Lisa Ovies (Puppet Killer), and a pair of 17-year-olds: Veronica Hampson and Kate Taeuschel. And, of course, the wonderful Soska Sisters themselves.

So, sit back and enjoy just under half an hour’s worth of gore and shocks. And don’t forget to Give Blood. It could save a life. Oh and to quote the girls, IT IS NOT SAFE FOR WORK. If your work sucks. Which is why we have this playing constantly in Moonbase Alpha.
