As you may already know, animated film Batman: Return of The Caped Crusaders is about to hit the shelves on Blu-Ray, DVD and in a small cinema run which will see stars of the original TV series, Adam West, Burt Ward and Julie Newmar return to their classic roles.

However, New York Comic Con has revealed plans are already in motion to produce an animated sequel to this film, due in 2017, with Star Trek’s original Captain, William Shatner, as the voice of Two-Face.

As Bat-folklore goes, Two-Face never made it on to the classic 1960s series, despite a story being written by legendary writer Harlan Ellison. Many years later, Ellison’s story was given the comic book treatment in a one-shot Batman ’66 special which saw the Caped Crusader battle the famed ‘Duke of Duplicity’. Whether this film will be based on this treatment is yet to be confirmed, but it will certainly be a real Bat-treat!
