In some interesting news, Wentworth Miller has signed a new deal with Warner Bros. TV that will see his role within The CW’s DC-based realm changed a little.

Deadline reports that Miller’s new deal will see him no longer being a regular on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow when the series’ second season comes around. Instead, his Captain Cold will be appearing across all of the network’s DC shows.

Executive producer Greg Berlanti explained, “We always knew that he wouldn’t be a permanent member of The Waverider . We also knew we loved him on the show and all the shows, Flash as well… He won’t be part of the team of Legends on board of The Waverider next year, but he will have a very active role on the show.”

This deal will mark the first for an actor to appear across multiple shows as the same character, and it appears that there may be more such deals to follow as Berlanti added that the powers-that-be “hope to continue with other characters finding their way across all the shows.”

When Legends of Tomorrow was first announced, it was believed that the show would involve a rotating roster of sorts, and that is seemingly the case. On this topic, Berlanti explained, “There is an anthology element to Legends. Every year for this show people should expect a new adventure. There will be new teammates, a new big bad. Mixing and matching things is part of the fun of the show.”

Whilst Miller’s Leonard Snart was introduced in The Flash before boarding DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, this new deal means that he’ll likely be appearing in Arrow at some point in the future. Added to this, CBS’ Supergirl has been confirmed to be moving to The CW for its second season, so an appearance of Captain Cold in National City against the Maid of Might may also be a possibility.
