The prequel series to Stephen King’s clown horror It, whose working title is Welcome to Derry, has announced its starring cast.

The series hails from franchise filmmakers Andy and Barbara Muschietti, as well as It: Chapter Two co-producer Jason Fuchs. Though their character details are yet to be revealed, we now know that Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, and James Remar will star in the HBO Max Original series.

Paige is best known for her titular role in Janicza Bravo’s Zola. She is also set to appear in superhero black comedy The Toxic Avenger, and in the upcoming comedy Beverley Hills Cop: Axel Foley. Adepo gained recognition for starring in HBO’s Watchmen (for which he also received an Emmy nomination) and was recently seen in the all-star blockbuster Babylon. Chalk’s credits include Perry Mason and All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt. Finally, Remar stars in two very high-profile, upcoming projects: Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer and Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis.

Plot details for Welcome to Derry are still under wraps, but we do know the series will be set in the 1960s in the time leading up to the events of It: Part One, and will include the origin story of Pennywise. Welcome to Derry has yet to receive a release window, but stay tuned for more information as we hear it.
