The ever expanding cast of JJ Abrams’ STAR WARS EPISODE VII grew even larger today, with the news that series veteran Warwick Davis has joined the movie.

The news was announced via a humorous video, starring the diminutive actor, who previously appeared in both RETURN OF THE JEDI and THE PHANTOM MENACE, as well as those two Ewok spin-offs that we like to pretend never happened.

There’s no word on whether Davis will be reprising one of his previous roles or playing a new character, although we’ve got to admit, we’d quite like to see an older, wiser Wicket (it’s not just us is it?) Frankly we’re not holding our breath on that one though.

Davis, is a genre veteran has appeared in the likes of DOCTOR WHO, WILLOW, the HARRY POTTER and LEPRECHAUN series and THE HITCHHIKERS GUIDE TO THE GALAXY. He’ll be joining a number of fellow original trilogy alumni including Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Peter Mayhew, Anthony Daniels and Kenny Baker in the as yet un-subtitled movie, which will be hitting cinemas in (gulp!) about 14 months’ time.

Surely it’s now only a matter of time now before JJ gives the mighty Billy Dee Williams a call? Pretty please?
