Fans of retro Dungeons and Dragons related stuff rejoice,  fan favourite and 1980’s icon Warduke is coming to everybody’s favourite side-scrolling browser game, Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms.

In the game Idle Champions this trained killer wields a magical flame-tongue sword that increases damage with every swing. The Tanking/DPS Champion occupies slot 8 in the game. His Bodyguard For Hire power allows him keep the rest of the party alive. He also has the ability to adjust party order, meaning that his allies can use some of their abilities more effectively. Warduke is best known as one of the bad guys from the 1983 Dungeons and Dragons Cartoon show; he worked for Venger and didn’t say much.

His eye-catching action figure came out the same year for the Advanced Dungeons and Dragons toy-line. A special Action Figure skin for the villain in available in the Idle Champions game. It comes with an adorable baby Nightmare familar. The evil barbarian mercenary, Warduke, first appeared on the cover of Dragon Magazine back in the late 70s, though it’s mostly just his helmet.

He would go on to appear in a variety of comic-strip based adverts for Dungeons and Dragons in the 80s, and was the big bad guy in 1984’s introductory adventure, Quest for the Hearthstone. Recently, he’s turned up (again as a villain) in modern D&D adventure,  The Wild Beyond The Witchlight.

The launch of the character will be celebrated on Codename Entertainment’s Twitch Channel www.twitch.tv/cnegames and you can find out more about the company here. A youtube video of Warduke in action is here.

A special code to unlock more treasure in the Idle Champions game can be found in Issue 480 of Starburst Magazine, in the Roll For Damage Column; available in all good geek shops.

Or you could just use the code below to unlock Warduke himself (we’re so very, very good to you all).
