In some rather great news, Walton Goggins has joined the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot as the ‘big bad’ of the movie.

Variety is reporting that the actor, best known for the likes of Justified, Django Unchained, Machete Kills and The Hateful Eight, will be the main villain of the Alicia Vikander-starring redo. At this stage, no other cast members have been announced and plot details are being kept well and truly hush-hush. With that said, expect to see tombs, and expect to see them raided.

Fans of the Tomb Raider property have previously seen two outings from Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and The Cradle of Life. Of course, Tomb Raider originated as a video game first published back in 1996. The most recent game, 2013’s Rise of the Tomb Raider, has sold over 5 million copies, which shows that there’s still plenty of affection for the iconic Croft.

To be directed by The Wave’s Roar Uthaug, this new Tomb Raider effort is currently set for a March 16th, 2018 release.
