With casting starting to move forward, Roland Emmerich has revealed that Vivica A. Fox will be returning for INDEPENDENCE DAY 2. The actress played Jasmine Dubrow in the original 1996 movie.

The director took to his Twitter account to confirm the news, posting the below picture along with the captain: “Exciting news… just officially closed @MsVivicaFox for #IndependenceDay! Here’s the pic!”

Fox joins a cast that includes the returning Jeff Goldblum, likely a Bill Pullman return, and then new additions in the form of Jessie Usher, Liam Hemsworth and Charlotte Gainsbourg.

INDEPENDENCE DAY 2 is currently set for a June 24th, 2016 release.
