With last month seeing Valiant Entertainment announcing plans for their own cinematic universe, now comes some big news on what we’ll be seeing. The Hollywood Reporter has word that Valiant will be partnering with Sony Pictures to launch their cinematic realm in 2017.

BLOODSHOT will be the first film to arrive, directed by JOHN WICK’s David Leitch and Chad Stahelski. The script has been penned by KICK-ASS 2’s Jeff Wadlow and Eric Heisserer, with Matthew Vaughn and Jason Kothari as executive producers. The titular Bloodshot is a badass former military man brought back to life with the powers of super-strength, super-speed, who can regenerate and is also a shape-shifter.

Following BLOODSHOT will be HARBINGER, currently without a director but with a script in place from Eric Heiserrer. The basic premise of the HARBINGER books revolves around a group of superpowered teenagers who are being hunted down by the Harbinger Foundation in order to use them to dominate the globe.

In some interesting news, it’s also been revealed that the current plan is to produce two apiece of the BLOODSHOT and HARBINGER movies before bringing the two properties together for a film based around the 2013 HARBINGER WAR crossover comic.

Valiant’s Dinesh Shamdasani will be working with Original Film’s Neal H. Moritz and Toby Jaffe to produce all five of these films.

As ever, expect more on this shared universe as it develops.
