With DRACULA UNTOLD having recently hit the big screen, Alex Kurtzman to helm a redo of THE MUMMY, Noah Hawley working on an unknown feature, and last week seeing a mysterious monster project announced for April 21st, 2017, now comes some further Universal news. Deadline is reporting that Aaron Guzikowski is being lined up to pen a reboot of THE WOLF MAN. Guzikowski is best known for writing PRISONERS and CONTRABAND.

The original WOLF MAN was released way back in 1941, starring Lon Chaney Jr. in the titular role and directed by George Waggner. After that, the character would go on to appear in several movies and would more recently be redone in the Benicio Del Toro-starring THE WOLFMAN in 2010.

It remains to be seen whether this new take on THE WOLF MAN will be the unknown movie that Universal has booked in for that April 21st, 2017 date.

As ever, expect more on this as it develops.
