Hot ticket filmmaker Zack Snyder is set to produce an animated series about Norse mythology for Netflix, titled Twilight of the Gods.

During the announcement at Netflix’s Geeked Week which took place between the 7th and 11th of June, the Justice League and Army of the Dead helmer explained that:

“It’s my take on Norse mythology and it’s really cool. We’re doing it with Digital Dimension who are doing the animation and it’s just going to be unlike anything you’ve ever seen. Because in animation, we can do anything we want which is so fun, and fun for all of us. As the creatives involved, we just can go nuts, and I think you’re going to love it.”

Although details are still very sparse, Snyder confirmed that a slate of beloved actors will be joining the voice cast of Twilight of the Gods: John Noble (Fringe, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It) will voice Odin, king of the Norse gods; Pilou Asbæk, of Game of Thrones fame, is set to voice the god of thunder Thor alongside Paterson Joseph as his brother and god of mischief, Loki. The cast will also feature The Walking Dead’s Lauren Cohan, Sylvia Hoeks, Stuart Martin, The Haunting of Bly Manor’s Rahul Kohli, Jamie Clayton (Sense8), Jamie Chung, Corey Stoll and appropriately, American GodsPeter Stormare.

Also on board as executive producers are Deborah Snyder and long-term collaborator Jay Olivia, the latter of whom will also serve as showrunner and director.

And that’s all she wrote, so stay tuned for further information closer to release.
