Last month we brought you news on the possible resurrection of ZOMBIELAND, not in the form of a sequel, but a TV series instead. Fans of the 2009 film were no doubt overjoyed at the prospect of seeing Tallahasee, Columbus, Wichita and Little Rock again, before learning that Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenburg, Emma Stone nor Abigail Breslin were set to return. Bummer.

Now we have news of the first two pieces of casting – upcoming indie actor Tyler Ross and newcomer Izabela Vidovic have signed on as Columbus and Little Rock respectively. Since those names no doubt mean very little to most of us, here’s some pics (for what it’s worth)…

Errrrm… aren’t they a little young?

ZOMBIELAND is very much still in the pilot stage, but with Amazon Studios behind it expect it to have a higher chance of getting a full season commissioned as the online merchants-turned-fledgling entertainment company look to get a jump on Netlix with original content.

As previously reported, the pilot is being written by the film’s creators Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick, who originally envisioned it as a TV show before flogging it as a feature. Now that the prospect of sequels are gone for good, let’s hope this reboot allows them to finally explore their universe to its best potential.

More news as it develops…
