TRUE BLOOD’s Aisha Hinds is the second actor to join the cast of Brian K. Vaughn & Stephen King’s highly anticipated TV adaptation of his own 2009 novel UNDER THE DOME. The former Voodoo priestess Miss Jeanette will play Entertainment Lawyer Carolyn Hill, who gets trapped in the town of Chester Mill on her way to drop off her daughter at a camp for wayward teens. Hinds will star alongside the previously announced Colin Ford.

UNDER THE DOME begins shooting soon, so expect many more cast members to be announced over the coming weeks.

Hinds is next to be seen in The CW’s intriguing new thriller, CULT, which premieres Stateside Feb 19th. UNDER THE DOME starts in the US on June 24th. (UK date pending on both.) Busy year for Hinds!

Official Synopsis:

UNDER THE DOME is the story of a small town that is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous transparent dome. The town’s inhabitants must deal with surviving the post-apocalyptic conditions while searching for answers to what this barrier is, where it came from, and if and when it will go away.

“UNDER THE DOME” is produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Amblin Television. Neal Baer, Stephen King, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, Stacey Snider, and Brian K. Vaughan, who wrote the television adaptation, will serve as executive producers. Acclaimed director Niels Arden Oplev (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) will direct the first episode.
