UK fans have become accustomed to catching up with the latest episodes of AMC’s phenomenally-successful zombie apocalypse drama The Walking Dead a few days after the US transmission; the show is screened on Sunday nights in the USA and arrives on FOX UK the following Friday. FOX UK have, however, today announced that when the show returns next February following its mid-season break (the eighth episode of the current run airs on December 1st in the US and on December 6th in the UK) it will be broadcast on Monday evenings, the day following its US debut, presumably in a bid to stem the tide of downloading and torrenting which inevitably follows the arrival of a new episode. The move also brings the show more in line with recent UK transmissions of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Dexter which have been screened in the UK within a day or two of their American airings.

The Walking Dead continues on Sunday nights in the US and, until 6th December, on Fridays in the UK.
