Following on from yesterday’s announcement that HOME AND AWAY’s Luke Mitchell has been cast in The CW’s reboot of the classic children’s sci-fi show THE TOMORROW PEOPLE, comes news of another addition to the show. Robbie Amell, best known for his role as Fred in the live action SCOOBY-DOO prequels (yup, they made more of those things) has landed the role of Stephen, “a tormented young man who longs to be normal and is relieved to learn he’s not crazy, but rather part of a group of genetically superior people known as the Tomorrow People”. Stephen’s powers include the ability to stop time, which is handy. FLASHFORWARD’s Peyton List (below) rounds out the cast as it stands so far.

Deadline have now announced that Mark Pellegrino has joined the cast as Dr. Jedikiah Price, “an evolutionary biologist committed to containing the threat posed by the Tomorrow People, whom he believes to be a grave danger to the human race.” Pellegrino will be familiar to many of you for his roles in genre shows such as SUPERNATURAL and BEING HUMAN (the Syfy version), but is perhaps best known as none other LOST’s mysterious island deity, Jacob!

THE TOMORROW PEOPLE pilot is produced by THE VAMPIRE DIARIES’ Julie Plec & ARROW’s Greg Berlanti, is written by Phil Klemmer (CHUCK), and will be directed by Danny Cannon (JUDGE DREDD, the crap one). We’ll have more news as we get it…
