Every time you think you’re over THE SIMPSONS, they go and do something wonderful like this.
For their annual Halloween TREEHOUSE OF HORROR episode, this year they’ve gone all out and let Guillermo Del Toro redo the entire opening credits. And it’s a homage filled whopper, clocking in at nearly three minutes.
Besides references to the director’s own films, including BLADE 2, CRONOS and a great PAN’S LABYRINTH gag, there’s a plethora of horror references in there, as well as a few cracking cameos (the Hitchcock one is a must see).
See how many homages you can spot. We stopped counting somewhere around the 100 mark:
