As reported in Things To Come of Starburst 386, The CW are developing Kass Morgan’s young adult book series THE HUNDRED, which is to be written by Jason Rothenberg and directed by Bharat Nalluri (OUTCASTS, TORCHWOOD, LIFE ON MARS).

Set 97 years after a nuclear war, survivors live in city like space ships, but it’s now necessary for the planet to be reclaimed, and in a high stakes mission 100 juvenile delinquents are sent to re-colonize a post apocalyptic Earth.

Pilot castings have started and playing the role of Wells Jaha, the son of the space station chancellor, is Eli Goree (SUPERNATURAL)…

Joining him is Henry Ian Cusick, best known for his portrayal of Desmond Hume in LOST. His character Kane is an ambitious Ark officer out to get the Chancellors job…

Bellamy, a delinquent described as “manipulative, strong and crafty” will be played by Bobby Morley (HOME & AWAY, NEIGHBOURS, ROAD TRAIN). Another hot Aussie export for The CW following the announcement that HOME AND AWAY’s Luke Mitchell has been cast in The CW’s reboot of the classic children’s sci-fi show THE TOMORROW PEOPLE.

That’s an ex-actor each from LOST and HOME AND AWAY on THE TOMORROW PEOPLE and THE HUNDRED so far. I think the casting directors at The CW must be a fan of those two shows, or maybe just beaches. Too much sand.
