Jamie Lee Curtis looks set to reunite with her HALLOWEEN H20 director Steve Miner for a new TV horror pilot entitled THE FINAL GIRLS. The story will centre around a group of ‘final girls’ being brought together by Curtis’ character for a mysterious purpose, aaaaaand… nope, that’s all we’ve got on the plot at this point. Sorry.

For anybody unfamiliar with the term ‘final girl’, it’s basically one of the most oft-used tropes in horror: one that sees a female character (usually a virgin) survive the movie’s bodycount to defeat the principal antagonist. (Until it inevitably rises from the dead in the sequel of course.) Curtis is one of the genre’s most famous ‘final girls’ having starred in several horror flicks earlier on in her career, most famously the HALLOWEEN series in which she tangled with slasher extraordinaire Michael Myers three times. Those amongst you more accustomed to harder edged stuff might be disappointed to learn that the show is being developed by the US network ABC Family, so expect the levels of horror to be capped somewhere around the likes of SUPERNATURAL and/or BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER. AMERICAN HORROR STORY this ain’t, that’s for sure!

As we said earlier there’s very little to go off at the minute, but stay tuned for updates…
