In the wake of GOTHAM, CONSTANTINE and AGENT CARTER all confirmed to receive full series, plus AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. renewed for a second season, now comes word that The CW has picked up both iZOMBIE and ARROW spin-off THE FLASH for full series. Both shows are set to debut in the second half of 2014.

To be based on the Vertigo series created by Chris Roberson and Mike Allred, the plot of iZOMBIE centres on Liv, played by Rose McIver. Working in a coroner’s office and forced to eat the brains of the deceased in order to maintain any sense of humanity, Liv finds herself absorbing the memories of the deceased in order to solve crimes.

As for THE FLASH, this is a show that has had its seeds already sown in The CW’s ARROW. Grant Gustin, last seen involved in a certain accident during ARROW’s Season 2 mid-season finale, is Barry Allen, aka The Flash. Joining him are the pair of Danielle Panabaker and Carlos Valdes as Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost and Cisco Ramon/Vibe, respectively; a duo that have already appeared in a recent episode of ARROW. Making up the rest of THE FLASH are Rick Gosnett as Eddie Thawne/Professor Zoom, Candice Patton as Iris West, Jesse L. Martin as Detective West, Tom Cavanagh as S.T.A.R. Labs’ Harrison Wells, Michelle Harrison as Nora Allen, Patrick Sabongui as Central City Police Captain David Singh, and an unspecified role for former Flash John Wesley Shipp.
