Tales from the Darkside News

We’re not the fondest of remakes/reboots/reimaginings here at Starburst, but something like this could be quite interesting.

TV Line is reporting that The CW is rebooting the classic TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE. Joe Hill, the son of Stephen King, is already working on a script for the show, and Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are to serve as executive producers.

The initial ’80s series was created by George Romero and Laurel Entertainment, telling 30-minute tales of terror. The series came to an end in 1988, and we were given TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE: THE MOVIE in 1990.

As a fan of episodic short horror stories, such as the original TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE and TALES FROM THE CRYPT, this is definitely intriguing news.

Expect more as we get it.
