Jamie Foxx is branching out into the horror genre, announcing a collaboration between his Foxxhole production outfit and the Syfy channel.

“This is a project that I’ve wanted to do for a long time and I’m so happy to see it come to life,” the DJANGO star announced at Syfy’s recent presentation, “Get ready to lose it when some special friends and I bring the scares this October, and who knows… maybe I’ll make a guest appearance or two along the way!”

Mark Stern, Syfy head, said of the show: “Jamie Foxx’s passion and unique perspective will transform these universal insights on the human condition into emotionally potent and truly scary cautionary tales.”

On board to pen these tales (alongside Foxx himself) are Michael Ferris – who’s responsible for some great stuff (like THE GAME) and some utter tosh (like CATWOMAN) – and John Pogue (QUARANTINE 2: TERMINAL). No comment.

Expect more details – like what the damn thing will actually be called – to hit soon…
