Just like the white-winged dove…

For those of you who read Starburst’s regular AMERICAN HORROR STORY: COVEN reviews, you’ll know that I’m quite the fan of Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks. With Lily Rabe’s Misty Day character being a huge fan of Nicks’ in the show, it’s been revealed that the legendary singer will make an appearance in an upcoming episode. Stevie will appear in the tenth episode of COVEN, which won’t actually air until after the show’s winter break.

Speaking to EW about Stevie Nicks, AMERICAN HORROR STORY creator Ryan Murphy revealed, “She appears as herself. It’s part of Fiona’s ruse in that Fiona is trying to get the true Supreme to reveal herself because she needs to stay alive. So she tells Misty Day that the Supreme gets great things in life, like tickets to the Oscars and Met Ball tickets. So she brings Stevie Nicks in as a gift to Misty to prove to her that if she exhibits more power she’ll get that and more. Then the other girls come home and see Stevie and Misty singing and it starts them trying to move much quicker to prove that they are the supreme.”

When asked on what song Stevie and Misty will be singing, Murphy said that he’s still working that out.

As for the link with Stevie Nicks, it’s been rumoured for literally decades now that she was a believer of witchcraft, not to mention one of Fleetwood Mac’s biggest hits is Rhiannon, a song about a Welsh witch. And so, the AMERICAN HORROR STORY creators decided to incorporate her into various elements of COVEN, particularly with the Misty Day character.

Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for a review of the latest COVEN episode, coming soon.
