Not long to go! AMC’s breakout zombie apocalypse TV hit The Walking Dead returns to US TV screens on October 14th with a UK screening on FXUK just days later. The new season has been described by showrunner Glen Mazzara as “relentless” and “very adrenalised” – which will no doubt come as something of a relief for those fans who became a little restless at the slower and more reflective pace of much of last year’s second season. The third season will run to sixteen episodes which will again be split into two screening blocks, each of eight episodes. Dammit. AMC have just released an atmospheric new promotional poster for season three which shows star Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes pointing a gun standing atop an overturned bus and set against the backdrop of the prison, which was revealed at the end of season two and is a key setting in the comic book series on which the TV show is based…
