J.J. Abrams’ production outfit Bad Robot are looking to develop THE STOPS ALONG THE WAY, the final screenplay written by THE TWILIGHT ZONE’s Rod Serling. The company are looking to adapt the story into a new multi-part event series and are currently shopping it to the networks.

THE STOPS ALONG THE WAY was originally intended as a TV mini-series back when it was completed in the seventies, but the story has remained under wraps since. Speaking with Variety today, Carol Serling would only say that it contained “a little bit of fantasy, a little bit of imagination” and that the story “takes place over a long period of time,” which gives us very little to go on, but she did say that it was one of her favourite pieces of her former husband’s.

If talks are successful, this would mark the fourth TV production Bad Robot have on their plate, with ALMOST HUMAN, PERSON OF INTEREST, REVOLUTION and BELIEVE all scheduled to begin/return later this year.

Expect more news soon…
