Gotham TV News

Fox is currently developing a new television series which will centre around the early days of the DC Universe’s Gotham. The show will apparently follow a young Commissioner (or just Officer) Gordon fighting crime in corrupt Gotham. And to prove this isn’t a crazy rumour here’s the casting call for a young boy known as Bruce Wayne from Feature Film Casting:

“A 10-year-old Bruce Wayne is among the roles that are now being cast as series regulars on the upcoming Fox TV series “Gotham” which explores the origin stories of Commissioner James Gordon and the villains that made Gotham City famous. Shooting on the pilot episode will get underway in March, 2014 and will centre on Gotham City PD rookie homicide detective James Gordon who investigates the double murder of Thomas and Martha Wayne.”

The casting call even gives us a major plot detail, which is THE Batman defining moment. The point where Bruce will begin harbouring his hate for injustice. So this kid will have to act.

Let’s not forget they’re still to cast Gordon as well. Will they go for an unknown, or bring in a star?

It’ll be interesting to see if both the writers and yet to be casted actors can pull it off. We could even see some rising talent in the young Bruce Wayne actor if the show is commissioned and taken well by audiences.

With March 2014 the month they begin filming, it will probably be the New Year until there is any sort of casting announcement.
