One of the highlights of the BBC’s Autumn TV line-up is likely to be its colourful and exciting new Saturday night family fantasy drama ATLANTIS, created by Howard (Misfits) Overman. The BBC have been ‘teasing’ the show, the replacement for the smash hit Merlin which finished its five-season run last Christmas, for several weeks via online riddles and mystical symbols designed to raise awareness of the show’s imminent arrival. Now we have something a little more substantial in the form of the series’ first promotional image, which depicts stars Robert Emms, Jack Donnelly and Mark Addy against a spectacular backdrop of a fiery, crumbling temple overlooked by a ferocious minotaur creature.

Atlantis is still filming in Chepstow in South Wales and is likely to arrive on BBC1 in September.
